Policies and Procedures
As your massage practitioner I will do my best to give you the most appropriate, beneficial care I am qualified and trained for. My objective is to help my clients feel better. By expressing what you would like to achieve from your visit you are helping to reach that goal.
The following items are my business policies and procedures. I apologize for the directness of the “rules” listed, but I have tried to be as concise as possible to avoid any confusion. If you have any questions or concerns about any of the items listed, let’s discuss it. Above all, I want you to be comfortable. Your session time is a time to relax and let your mind and body rest and renew!
- Client information and sessions are private and confidential. Information would only be released to your physician with your written permission or surrendered to a court if subpoenaed.
- The client will be covered with a sheet during the massage session. Only the portion of the body being worked on will be uncovered as it is being worked. I make every effort to honor your privacy and am careful not to expose any private areas of your body. If at any time you become uncomfortable with the way you are covered or uncovered, it is your responsibility as a client to notify me immediately.
- Physical, mental and emotional changes generally occur during a massage. The responses vary greatly. Your massage session, being confidential and non-threatening is a time to allow yourself to experience total relaxation if possible. Know that things may occur that are not within your consciousness at the time of your massage. Bodily noises, involuntary movement and physiological changes are all normal and not to be concerned about.
- Your physical body is unique and sacred. Regardless of the image you may have of yourself, know that as a health care practitioner, I have no judgment. I accept and honor all beings that come to me for treatment. If I have concerns for your health, I will mention and sometimes offer suggestions, as in referrals or general information, which you may or may not care to pursue.
- ”No pain, no gain” does not necessarily apply to my treatments. Please let me know if you experience an uncomfortable amount of pain during your session.
- I will not, at any time, massage the genital area nor will I engage in any sexual situations or conversations with my clients.
- I, the massage practitioner, or you, the client, may end a session at any time with no repercussions if either are uncomfortable in any way. Upon ending a session in this way the client is expected to dress, retrieve any items they have brought with them, pay any fees that have incurred and exit the property in a mature, courteous manner. If either party requests more explanation than what is stated for ending the session, the other party is under no obligation to do so, but may respond in writing within 10 business days after the session.
- If any session is ended by the practitioner or the client after one half hour of session time is incurred, the session fee is $30 and is due prior to the client’s departure from the property.
- Massage and Reiki sessions are one hour unless otherwise discussed before the session begins.
- Reiki is a system of energy balancing that is only performed with a recipient, the client, if the client requests the energy. I may suggest adding Reiki to your treatment but if you do not want to receive Reiki I whole heartedly accept your decision and will not use it.
- Personal checks, cash, MasterCard, Visa and American Express accepted only, with payment in full due at the time of service.
- A fee of $30 will be charged for any check returned for non-sufficient funds.
- If you must cancel an appointment please call as soon as you are aware of the situation, ideally, 24 hours or more notice is requested.
- J Linn Black Henline reserves the right to make changes to these policies and procedures at any time without prior notice.
