The nature of this work is complex. Ideally your companion and I would be able to communicate freely
as with human clients. As this isn’t possible for us, I need to “read” what he/she tells me with
body language and my senses. Please allow me to work with your friend as a professional. I may need to ask for your
help with the process, but please be aware that interference can ruin a session. As you know, your companion is very
aware of our emotions and actions, especially yours. This can be a great distraction. My purpose for working with
you both is for his/her emotional, physical well-being and I take that very seriously.
The following items are listed for your review. They are my business policies and procedures. I apologize
for the directness of the “rules” listed, but I have tried to be as concise as possible to avoid any confusion.
If you have any questions or concerns about any of the items listed, let’s discuss it. Above all, I want your
companion to be comfortable and secure.
***
An adult caretaker is required to be present during the entire session. At times your companion
is more willing and able to relax if family members are not present in the immediate vicinity, but you will still
be required to be on the property, within calling distance.
***
I will ask questions and receive information from you at the beginning of the session. Further
information may be relayed or asked for periodically throughout the session, but please keep conversation to a minimum.
The fewer distractions the better the treatment.
***
All client information and the session are private and confidential. Information would only
be released to your animal’s health care provider(s) with your written permission or surrendered to a court
if subpoenaed.
***
Physical, mental and emotional changes generally occur during a massage. The responses vary
greatly. Your companions massage session is all about them. He/she may need time to assimilate to this new situation.
He/she may need to move about, stretch, get a drink, urinate or defecate during a session. These behaviors are common
with bodywork. Animals being the “in the moment” beings that they are don’t feel the need to wait
until the session is over to take care of these things like you or I might.
***
If I have concerns regarding your companion’s health or welfare, I will mention and sometimes
offer suggestions, as in referrals or general information, which you may or may not care to pursue.
***
I, the massage practitioner, or you, the client, may end a session at any time with no repercussions
if either is uncomfortable in any way. Upon ending a session in this way I will collect any items I brought with
me, collect any fees that have incurred or are outstanding from previous visits and exit the property in a professional,
courteous manner. If either party requests more explanation than what is stated for ending the session, the other
party is under no obligation to do so, but may respond in writing within 10 business days after the session.
***
If any session is ended by the practitioner or the client after one half hour of session time
is incurred, the session fee is $40 and is due prior to my departure from the property.
***
Massage and Reiki sessions are one hour unless otherwise discussed before the session begins.
***
Personal checks, cash, American Express, Visa and Master Card accepted only, with payment in full due at the time
of service.
***
A fee of $30 will be charged for any returned check.
***
If you must cancel an appointment please call as soon as you are aware of the situation, ideally,
24 hours or more notice is requested.

J Linn reserves the right to make changes to these policies and procedures at any time without
prior notice.
